File: Interview with Debby Morton
Duration: 00:11:37
Date: 07/08/12
Interviewer(In): Thank you for taking your time to meet up with me.
Debby Morton(DM): You’re welcome.
In: I would like to take some time to ask you some questions about the incident that took place last night if that’s alright with you?
DM: Sure.
In: Where were you last night around 8 pm?
DM: Last night I was sitting in my living room reading my book on my couch. I heard a rumbling coming from outside my house. This is around the time my husband comes home from work. I forgot to turn on the outside lights. I got off the couch and went and turned on the lights. When I turned them on, I saw my husbands car still running with the driver door open but my husband wasn’t there.
In: Was there anything suspicious about the incident?
DM: Well, the whole thing was suspicious. But let me tell you, Steve loved his car to pieces. He would never leave his door open or let alone leave it running. I believe that something took him.
In: What do you mean by ‘something’?
DM: Steve was a very large man. We have equipment in our garage and he worked out on the regular. If someone took him we would’ve seen signs of his abduction or struggle. Or, we would’ve seen the people that tried to take him laying down in the driveway.
In: Then what do you think it was that took your husband?
DM: I don’t want to sound crazy, but I’ve done some research. I believe that it was... that it was a... vampire.
In: Debby, are you aware that vampires do not exist?
DM: There’s over 100 of cases with missing people with unexplainable reasons. Most of the all occur at the night time, and they’re after healthy people. Their bodies are never found and are left without a trace to follow. Explain to me another logical reason.
In: There is no proof that vampires exist. It’s hard to assume the reasoning of the missing people to be as such.
DM: I do believe in vampires. Why would such information about them be made up? Information about vampires goes all the way back to Ancient Greek mythology. There’s even cases about a boy from Rhode Island (. ). There’s so much history about them. I know that it’s crazy because no one reports cases of actually seeing one. But they must be out their hiding.
In: Is there anybody within this town that you would suspect of being a vampire?
DM: Well actually yes. I would prefer not to say there names.
In: This is a private interview so you are more than welcome to share. This will not be discussed outside of the facility.
DM: I believe that the Salvatore brothers, Damon and Stefan, could be a vampire. During my research I looked up vampire history in Mystic Falls. I didn’t get any specific proof, but I did find images where it seemed as if they were in the background.
In: Why do you suspect them?
DM: They moved here 5 years ago and haven’t aged a bit. Plus they dress differently. They both have huge, old-looking rings that they wear.
In: Well, thank you for your time. I’m sure we will be planning another interview soon

End notes:
A lot of people that go through traumatic events. Once something unexplainable happens, people often believe in things that aren’t the common opinion or belief in society. In this interview, Debby’s husband has gone missing. He was a large man so it’s hard for Debby to believe that someone has taken him. Her research has left her believing that a vampire took him. It’s not the event that’s important but it’s the research she has found.
